The Dallas - Fort Worth
G.I. Joe Collectors Club was
founded in 1999. It's first meeting was held on 5/22/99 and the club was
officially recognized after it's third meeting on 6/19/99. It is the
local Dallas - Fort Worth, Texas chapter of the International G.I. Joe
Collectors Club.
We are a group of collectors, of
G.I. Joe and various other action figures, who meet monthly in the
Dallas / Fort Worth area. We are also customizers, diorama builders
and retailers of 1/6th and 3 3/4" scale action figures.
Our goal is to provide all
collectors in and around Texas with a regular place and time to meet
other collectors, to exchange collecting and
customizing ideas or tips and swap or sell gear. All with the comradely
of friends!
What do we collect?
Bottom line, given the diversity of our group we seem to collect a
little of everything from high end vintage 12" G.I. Joes to the
latest 3 ¾” Star Wars action figures hitting the marketplace
currently. The nice thing about our group is that all periods,
scales, and genres are represented such as Historical, Fantasy, and
Sci-Fi. If you can name it, we probably have a member who collects
it!
Where are we?
Members of the Dallas / Fort Worth G.I. Joe Collectors Club are
spread out all over the Metroplex area.
When and where do we meet?
Our meetings are held monthly, typically on the first Saturday of
the month, but due to holiday/convention conflicts occasionally the
meetings are bumped back to the second Saturday of the month. The
chapter maintains a lively calendar of events and activities that
include the following:

Custom Figure Contests
Community Service
Monthly Swap Meets
Speakers
Classes
Field-Trips
Museum Open House Displays
Meeting Information
The club meets between 2:00PM and
4:00PM on the first Saturday each month
to share our common interest in GI JOE
and other 1/6 and 3 3/4 scaled figures.
